The best-prepared candidate for President of Romania

Asked who, in their opinion, is the best prepared candidate for the office of President of Romania, 20.4% of the respondents indicate Mircea Geoană (independent), 18.1% Marcel Ciolacu (PSD), 14.Nicolae Ciucă (PNL) was mentioned by 6% of the respondents, Cristian Diaconescu (independent) - 5.8%, Ludovic Orban (FD and PMP) - 2.3% and Kelemen Hunor (UDMR) - 2.1%. Cristian Terheș (PNCR) was chosen by 1.6% and Ana Birchall (independent) by 0.8%. 0.8% mentioned another candidate. 8.5% do not know or cannot judge, while 8.1% do not consider any of the candidates as well prepared. 2.2% do not answer.

Candidate least well prepared for the office of President of Romania

19.9% of the respondents think that George Simion (AUR) is the least prepared candidate for President of Romania. 13.1% mention Elena Lasconi (USR), 12.8% Marcel Ciolacu (PSD) and 10.5% Nicolae Ciucă (PNL). Ludovic Orban (FD and PMP) was mentioned by 6.8% of those polled, and Kelemen Hunor (UDMR) by 5.2%. Mircea Geoană (independent) is seen as the most poorly prepared candidate by 4.6% of those interviewed, Ana Birchall (independent) by 3.6%, Cristian Terheș (PNCR) by 3.5% and Cristian Diaconescu (independent) by 2%. 1% indicated another candidate. 13.3% do not know or cannot judge, while 0.8% do not consider any of the candidates as poorly prepared. 2.6% do not answer.

The opinion poll was carried out by INSCOP Research, a corporate member of ESOMAR, commissioned by the daily Libertatea. Data was collected from October 11-18, 2024.
