<p>The Central Electoral Bureau published on Sunday evening the decision to reject the registration of the independent candidate Călin Georgescu's candidacy for the May presidential elections. According to the BEC, the candidate, by not respecting the rules of the electoral procedure, "violated the very obligation (...) to defend democracy". The BEC invokes the CCR's decision to reject Diana Șoșoaca's candidacy for the 2024 presidential elections, as well as the decision to annul the election.
