George Simion did not attend the debate organized by the Romanian Students' Union, scheduled for 16 May, although he had announced that he would be present. USR later announced that the debate was canceled for independent reasons. The students expressed their desire to discuss education and professional future, stressing the need for concrete answers. In recent days, Simion has been absent from most presidential debates, with only his counter-candidate Nicușor Dan present.
