Former President Traian Basescu said that AUR leader George Simion will not make it to the second round of the May 2025 presidential elections, emphasizing his lack of intellectual preparation. Basescu believes that although Simion has a base of support, it will diminish rapidly due to his lack of the skills needed to lead Romania. He suggests that public confidence in Simion will decline before the first round of elections.
