The Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) announced that the recalculation of the neuropsychic overload bonus, carried out following an audit by the Court of Accounts, will not reduce the salaries of employees in education. This measure was necessary because the bonus was incorrectly granted, including over other bonuses, which led to discrepancies among teachers with the same classification. MEC explained that the bonus will now be calculated correctly, based on the base salary according to Framework Law no. 153/2017, ensuring uniform treatment for all teachers with the same teaching degree and seniority. The recalculation aims to correct previous errors and eliminate the phenomenon of "bonus on bonus," thus guaranteeing equity among employees. Teachers will not experience salary reductions, but will benefit from a correction of the bonus value.
