Uni Energi, the owner of the Avia gas station network, has applied to the Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Competition for approval to acquire Gazprom's assets, which include 23 active gas stations and a fuel depot. The move comes after Gazprom-controlled Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) announced its intention to divest its Bulgarian operations due to market difficulties. If the acquisition is approved, the gas stations will be relaunched under the Avia brand.
