At the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Government of Romania adopted a Decision that modifies the state aid scheme for reducing the excise duty on diesel used in agriculture.

This measure ensures the necessary funds for the full payment of the support related to the diesel used by farmers during the period from January 1 to March 31, 2026.

Deputy Prime Minister Tánczos Barna emphasized the importance of this scheme for maintaining the competitiveness of Romanian farms and announced that the budget for the scheme for 2026 will be increased by 94.3 million lei, reaching a total of 714.3 million lei.

The scheme aims to support agricultural producers in the plant, livestock, and land improvement sectors, compensating part of the excise duty related to the diesel used for mechanized agricultural work.

In 2026, the support provided will be 2.697 lei/liter, and payments will be made through APIA, within the limits of the approved budget.
