In the Thursday meeting, the Government approved a memorandum for the transfer of state-owned assets from Electrocentrale București (ELCEN) to the Municipality of Bucharest.

This decision comes following a request from the General Council of the Municipality and aims to reunite the production and distribution of thermal energy under a single local authority. ELCEN produces thermal agent for the Capital, while the distribution is carried out by the Municipal Company Termoenergetica.

The implementation of the transfer will be coordinated by the Prime Minister's Chancellery, and the Government will be informed monthly about the progress. The memorandum also includes an analysis of the legislative framework for streamlining the heating system, taking into account previous issues between RADET and ELCEN.

Additionally, the Government approved the merger of Societatea Electrocentrale Grup SA with the Energy Participation Management Company (SAPE) to reduce the number of state companies and streamline their activities, in accordance with commitments from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
