The minimum consumption threshold for a decent living per family is higher than in the following year. A family with two children needs over 11,000 lei per month.

According to a study based on official statistics, the amount needed for a decent living for a family with two adults and two children has increased by 900 lei in one year, reaching 11,370 lei per month, equivalent to over 2,200 euros. This represents an increase of almost 9% compared to last year. Additionally, a family with one child needs 9,343 lei, while a family without children needs 7,000 lei per month.


The minimum consumption basket includes essential expenses such as food, utilities, clothing, personal hygiene, health, education, transportation, and recreation. Currently, the net minimum wage is 2,574 lei, which makes decent living a challenge for many families.
