In 2025, the minimum consumption basket for a family with two adults and two children is 11,370 lei/month, an increase of almost 9% compared to last year, according to the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Romania and Syndex Romania.

The Friedrich Ebert Foundation Romania and Syndex Romania have updated the value of the minimum consumption basket for a decent living in 2025, establishing that for a family consisting of two adults and two children, it amounts to 11,370 lei per month.

Compared to the previous year, the value has increased by 8.8%, that is, by 920 lei. The increase is generated by the rise in costs in various areas, especially food (+181 lei), the purchase of a home (+171 lei) and housing expenses (+170 lei).

Additionally, for other types of families, the minimum basket is 9,343 lei for a family of two adults and one child, 7,002 lei for two adults without children, and 4,322 lei for a single person.

The minimum basket covers basic needs, including food, housing, clothing, education, and health.
