Bogdan Chirițoiu, the head of the Competition Council, stated that the institution constantly monitors the fuel distribution sector, including prices and the behavior of operators, to ensure that price changes are justified by objective factors. He emphasized that the price of a barrel of oil is below 80 dollars, similar to the previous year, and that adjustments in pump prices are usually moderate and temporary.

At the same time, the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, stated that Romania has sufficient fuel stocks for 90 days and that any increase greater than 3-5 bani per liter is not justified, considering the recent increase in oil quotas. Ivan called on the competent institutions to monitor the market to prevent speculation.
