Romania registered in February 2026 a total of 4,688,092 pensioners, with 9,978 fewer than the previous month, according to CNPP data. The average pension was 2,780 lei, and the total value of pension rights amounted to 13.034 billion lei.

Of these, 526,868 pensioners had periods worked in agriculture, with an average pension of 718 lei. The majority of pensioners, 3,783,636, were retirees at the retirement age, with an average pension of 3,111 lei, of which 2,160,004 were women. Additionally, 64,429 people received early retirement (average 2,530 lei), while 393,857 benefited from disability pensions (average 1,089 lei). Survivor pensions were granted to 446,078 people, with an average pension of 1,506 lei. In the same month, 92 pensioners received social assistance, with an average of 540 lei.
