The South Korean government has announced that it is considering the possibility of granting additional energy vouchers to support vulnerable households, in the context of rising global fuel prices due to the crisis in the Middle East. The Minister of Industry, Kim Jung-kwan, stated that the Executive will take measures to reduce the burden on the population, including stabilizing the supply and demand for energy. South Korea, which relies almost entirely on imports for its energy needs, also proposes to stimulate nuclear and coal-based energy production in the event that oil prices remain high. Additionally, the government will monitor the funds for energy vouchers, considering the increase in the current budget allocated for vulnerable groups.
