SOCAR Petroleum, a subsidiary of the state company of Azerbaijan, announced the opening of three new gas stations in the counties of Sălaj, Suceava, and Satu-Mare, thus ending 2025 with a total of 91 fuel distribution stations in Romania. The gas station in Sălaj is located in the municipality of Zalău, the one in Suceava in the village of Sasca Nouă, and the last one was inaugurated in the town of Carei, Satu-Mare. SOCAR currently owns 10 gas stations in Suceava, 3 in Sălaj, and 2 in Satu-Mare, offering specific products from Azerbaijan, such as sand coffee and pomegranate juice.
Ramin Aliyev, the general director of SOCAR Petroleum, stated that the company aims to open stations in every county and continue to provide premium fuel and quality services. In 2024, SOCAR recorded a turnover of 3.6 billion lei, with a 33% increase compared to the previous year, and created over 900 jobs. The company has ambitious plans for the future, including the opening of 14 new stations this year and exceeding 100 locations by 2026.
