Romgaz has informed that, starting from October 13, 2025, the contract with Duro Felguera for the completion of the thermal power plant in Iernut has been terminated due to non-fulfillment of contractual obligations. The project has faced delays due to the financial difficulties of the contractor, which is in insolvency. Romgaz has initiated measures to unblock the works, including direct payment to subcontractors. The plant, expected to increase energy production by 439 MW, resumed execution in August 2023, after a suspension since 2021.
