Romania recorded in June 2026 inflows of 4.028 billion euros, coming from the modification of minimum foreign currency reserves held by credit institutions at the BNR, funding of the Ministry of Finance accounts, and a tranche of approximately 2.250 billion euros from the loan granted by the European Commission under the PNRR. During the same period, outflows totaled 4.586 billion euros, representing payments of principal and interest related to public debt in foreign currency. At the end of June 2026, Romania's international reserves, which include currencies and gold, stood at 75.259 billion euros, down from the level of 77.042 billion euros recorded on May 31, 2026. Payments due in July 2026 related to public debt denominated in foreign currency are estimated at approximately 697 million euros. At the same time, the gold reserve remained constant at 103.6 tons, valued at 11.766 billion euros, amid fluctuations in international prices.
