Eurostat data shows that Romania has prices 35% below the European Union average.

According to Eurostat data, Romania is 35% below the European Union average regarding the prices of goods and services for consumption. Bulgaria is the only member state with lower prices, at 37% below the EU average.

In contrast, Denmark has the highest prices, at 40% above the European average. Romania stands out as having the lowest prices in the EU for food and non-alcoholic beverages, at 80% of the EU average. Slovakia, Poland, and the Czech Republic follow in this ranking. In the category of recreation, sports, and culture, Romania has prices that are 37% below the EU average, and in transport, they are 20% lower.

However, purchasing power in Romania remains 22% below the European average, similar to Croatia, but better than in Hungary. In contrast, Luxembourg and Ireland have the highest levels of GDP per capita, at 139% and 138% above the EU average.
