The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) has reported significant progress in the implementation of the National Rural Development Program (PNDR) 2014–2020, with an absorption rate of 95.16% of the allocated European funds. By June 30, 2025, the payments made amount to 12.08 billion euros out of a total of 12.7 billion euros. Minister Florin-Ionuț Barbu emphasized the efficiency of Romanian farmers in utilizing these funds to generate jobs and competitiveness. MADR is now focused on completing the PNDR and the rapid implementation of the PAC Strategic Plan 2023–2027, which will bring new funding for various areas, including irrigation and digitalization. Among the sub-measures with major impact are investments in agricultural holdings, processing of agricultural products, and support for young farmers. MADR remains committed to the efficient use of European funds for a competitive and sustainable agriculture.
