The interim Minister of Finance declared that Romania incurs additional costs of approximately 2.5 million euros per month in the form of interest in the Pfizer case, in the context of the obligation to pay approximately 680 million euros established by a court decision.

Alexandru Nazare states that the Romanian state continues negotiations with the pharmaceutical company to find solutions to reduce the financial impact, including the possibility of converting the debt into medicines or deferring payments. The government is also discussing with European partners, such as Poland, for a common approach, but officials admit that Pfizer's position is a strong one, and the margins for negotiation are limited.

The authorities are trying to avoid further increases in costs and to mitigate the budgetary effects of the ruling.
