The EU Economic and Financial Committee has approved the fourth payment request from the PNRR. What amount will Romania receive?

Romania has received a favorable opinion for the fourth payment request from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), amounting to 2.62 billion euros, non-reimbursable funds.

The Economic and Financial Committee of the European Union has confirmed the fulfillment of the milestones and targets related to the request, which includes 38 milestones and 24 targets. The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, emphasized the importance of this opinion, mentioning that Romania needs to maximize the available amounts by the end of 2026. The request was submitted on December 19, 2025, and the final authorization stage will take place within the comitology procedure. The PNRR has a total value of 21.41 billion euros, and the current absorption rate is approximately 61%.

Accelerating the implementation of the PNRR is essential for supporting public investments and maintaining Romania's credibility in financial markets.
