Over the next 10 years, Romania will invest around €20 billion in the construction of strategic highways, essential for the rapid mobilization of NATO forces. These roads will connect the main military corridors, facilitating the movement of defense equipment. The government is due to declare these routes as roads of military importance and this is part of NATO's efforts to improve military mobility in Europe, thus strengthening security on the Alliance's eastern flank.
