<p>The analysis by Ella Kallai, chief economist at Alpha Bank, shows that Romania's productivity has risen sharply to 44% in 2024, with women playing a crucial role. This is due to the development of knowledge-intensive sectors and structural changes in the economy, with the share of knowledge-intensive services rising from 21% in 2008 to 33% in 2023. Women represent 43% of the workforce, with a high concentration in productive sectors. Migration to more productive services is expected to continue, which will support economic growth.
