The European Commission has approved the acquisition of eMAG by Naspers Limited

The European Commission has approved the exclusive takeover of Dante International S.A. (eMAG) from Romania by Naspers Limited from South Africa, in accordance with the EU Regulation on economic concentrations.

The transaction, which focuses on the retail sector, was assessed through a simplified procedure, and the Commission determined that there are no competition issues, considering that the two companies do not operate in the same markets or in interconnected markets.

In this context, entrepreneur Iulian Stanciu has completely exited the shareholding of eMAG, selling his 11.77% stake to the Prosus group, which already owned 80% of the shares, according to economedia.ro.
