The study conducted by Sehrish Usman from the University of Mannheim estimates the economic losses caused by extreme weather in the summer of 2025 at 43 billion euros, with possible total costs of 126 billion euros by 2029. The most affected countries are Spain, France, and Italy, each with losses of over 10 billion euros. The long-term impact includes inflation and production losses, and the authors warn that these estimates are underestimated, not including the cumulative effects of climate change.
