Lidl reaffirms its commitment to open 200 stores in Romania by 2030, demonstrating confidence in the country's economic potential. The retailer, which entered the Romanian market in 2011, invested 160 million euros last year and recorded significant business growth, reaching 24 billion lei in 2024. With a network of 364 supermarkets, Lidl has collaborated with over 450 local producers, spending more than 2.16 billion euros with Romanian suppliers.

Lidl's activity supports approximately 90,000 jobs, contributing 2.31 billion euros to Romania's GDP, equivalent to 0.65% of it. Each job at Lidl indirectly generates another 6 jobs in the economy, highlighting the retailer's positive impact on the local market.
