Flying Tiger Copenhagen and BALFIN Group are preparing to bring the Danish brand to the Romanian market in 2027, as part of an expansion plan that calls for 87 stores to open in Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia over the next five years. The companies have not specified how many locations will be allocated to Romania or which cities are being targeted.

The first stores in the new phase will open in Romania and Bulgaria in 2027, while expansion in Croatia is scheduled to begin in early 2028. Romania is considered one of the important markets for the retailer’s European development.

Flying Tiger Copenhagen operates more than 1,100 stores in over 45 markets. The brand is known for its affordable products and frequently changing assortment, which includes toys, stationery, home accessories, kitchen products and party supplies.

The partnership with BALFIN Group is already active in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia, where the network is expected to reach 20 stores by the end of 2026. Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Montenegro, are the next targeted markets, in early 2027.

BALFIN Group, founded in 1993 by Samir Mane, has approximately 5,000 employees and operations in 13 countries, in fields including retail, real estate, financial services, logistics and energy.
