In October, the annual inflation rate in the European Union decreased to 2.5%, down from 2.6% in the previous month, according to Eurostat data. Romania continues to have the highest inflation in the EU, with an annual price increase of 8.4%, although it has decreased from 8.6% in September. The lowest inflation rates were recorded in Cyprus (0.2%), France (0.8%), and Italy (1.3%). In the eurozone, inflation fell to 2.1%, slightly exceeding the European Central Bank's target of 2%. The main contribution to inflation in the eurozone came from services, while energy prices decreased. In Romania, non-food goods increased by 10.96%, and services by 10.52%, according to INS.
