<p>In today's press conference, April 8, Ilie Bolojan analyzed the effects of the new trade tariffs imposed by the United States on the European Union, highlighting in particular the 20% customs duty introduced by President Donald Trump. Bolojan warned that the tariffs set by the US administration will affect Romania's economy, especially industries exporting products such as aluminum, pharmaceuticals and components. Although the direct impact on the Romanian economy is low, Romanian companies integrated in European value chains will feel the effects, given Germany's importance in exports to the US. Bolojan expects a slowdown in economic activity and investment in Romania, and retaliatory measures could worsen the economic situation, leading to inflation and the risk of recession.
