In the first nine months of the year, Hidroelectrica produced 8.7 TWh of electricity, down 23% compared to the same period last year, due to the drought that affected water resources. Energy sales decreased by 14%, but sales to its own customers increased by 30%, reaching 5.2 TWh. To meet the increased demand, the company had to purchase energy from the market, with acquisitions of 1.6 TWh, more than double last year's amount.

Hidroelectrica will maintain its low price policy for household consumers, even though market purchases are more expensive. Director Bogdan Badea emphasized that competitive prices in the market allow the company to offer affordable rates. Additionally, Hidroelectrica has adjusted its budget, anticipating a 15% decrease in net profit, down to 3 billion lei, due to declining revenues and increasing expenses. The company remains the largest producer of green energy in Romania, operating 188 hydropower plants and a wind farm.
