According to the Fuel Price Monitor, fuel prices at Petrom stations in Bucharest have recorded a new increase. On January 20, 2026, standard gasoline was sold between 7.62 and 7.68 lei per liter, while standard diesel was between 7.85 and 7.90 lei. This represents the fourth price change in January, with the last increases occurring on January 15, when both types of fuel rose by 4 bani per liter. Since the beginning of the year, gasoline has increased by 34 bani, and diesel by 31 bani per liter, as a result of the increase in excise duties. At the beginning of the year, prices were 7.58 lei for gasoline and 7.77 lei for diesel.
