The National Bank of Romania published the exchange rate for February 20, 2026, highlighting a significant increase in the price of gold per gram, which reached 700.9567 lei, once again exceeding the psychological threshold of 700 lei. This represents the highest value recorded since January 29, 2026. Regarding currencies, the Romanian leu recorded a depreciation, losing more than one ban against the US dollar, which is quoted at 4.3327 lei, and against the British pound, quoted at 5.8393 lei. Additionally, the leu also decreased against the euro, which reached 5.0974 lei. However, the leu gained ground against the Swiss franc, quoted at 5.5813 lei.
