The European currency continued to fall and was quoted at 5.0573 lei by the NBR. The US dollar and the pound sterling depreciated to 4.3312 lei and 5.8527 lei respectively. In contrast, the Swiss franc rose to 5.3735 lei and the gold gram fell by more than 1.50 lei to 464.9675 lei. The exchange rates are set by the NBR on the basis of quotes from authorized banks.
