Bogdan Ivan, the Minister of Energy, stated that the authorities are working on at least five scenarios to prevent fuel prices from reaching 10 lei/liter in Romania. Among the solutions discussed are reducing the excise duty on gasoline and diesel, considering the impact of the conflict in the Middle East on international prices. Ivan emphasized the importance of keeping prices below two digits and acknowledged that transporters and farmers are the most affected categories by rising prices. Final decisions regarding these scenarios could be announced at the end of the week or at the beginning of next week, depending on the evolution of the international situation.
