The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has revised downwards the forecast for the growth of the Romanian economy, estimating a growth of 0.9% for 2025, compared to 1.6% previously. In 2024, GDP grew by 0.8%, negatively influenced by the decline in industry and services, as well as the drought in agriculture. The fiscal deficit is estimated to be nearly 8% of GDP, and inflation could reach 8.8% by the end of the year. Risks include weak exports and a decrease in public investments.
