INS: Romania's economy recorded a decrease of 0.2% in the third quarter of 2025, after a growth of 1% in the second quarter.

However, compared to the same period in 2024, GDP increased by 1.6% on a gross series and by 1.4% on a seasonally adjusted series. In the period from January to September 2025, the economy advanced by 0.8% compared to the previous year. Recent revisions by the National Institute of Statistics recalculated the volume indices for previous quarters, without changing the results for the first and second quarters of 2024. The International Monetary Fund forecasts a growth of 1% for the Romanian economy in 2025, a decrease compared to previous estimates. The World Bank estimates a growth of only 0.4% this year, while the National Commission for Strategy and Forecasting anticipates a growth of 0.6% for 2025. These data suggest a moderate economic evolution, with limited growth prospects in the coming years.
