In the first eight months of 2025, 4,561 companies and authorized natural persons (PFA) entered insolvency, with a decrease of 2.06% compared to the same period in 2024.

Bucharest recorded the most insolvencies, followed by the counties of Bihor and Cluj. The fewest insolvencies were in Covasna and Harghita. The commerce sector was the most affected, and in August 2025, there were 499 insolvencies recorded, with the most in Bucharest and Bihor.
