Craiova has entered direct competition with the major real estate centers in Romania, experiencing a rapid increase in housing prices, with a two-bedroom apartment reaching increasingly high values. In recent years, the city has undergone accelerated development, especially due to the Christmas Market, which has increased its international visibility. Craiova has risen to fourth place in the ranking of cities with the most expensive apartments, with an average price of 2,095 euros per square meter, recording a 21% increase.

Buyers are attracted to two-bedroom apartments and studios, and demand remains high for houses and commercial spaces. Foreign investors, including from Italy and France, are drawn to the city, and residents of Craiova have mixed opinions about the rising prices. Some believe that these reflect the city's development, while others see them as too steep. Craiova has culturally transformed, having a rich calendar of festivals and events, which contributes to its attractiveness.
