The 3-month ROBOR index, used for calculating variable interest rates on loans in lei, decreased on Tuesday to 5.97%, down from 5.98% the previous day, according to BNR data. This decrease is part of a downward trend that began at the end of last year, after reaching levels above 7% in the summer of 2025 due to restrictive liquidity conditions. Additionally, the 6-month ROBOR remained constant at 6.09%, while the 12-month ROBOR dropped to 6.26%. In the context of the constant maintenance of the key interest rate by BNR and more balanced liquidity conditions in the interbank market, the reference index IRCC started the year 2026 declining to 5.68%. 10-year government bonds recorded a slight increase in yield, reaching 6.77%.
