CITR will continue the procedures for the sale of Mangalia Shipyard, following the ruling issued on Monday, by organizing auctions in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Procedure Code. The first auction will start from the market value of the asset, estimated at 184 million euros.
The new mechanism allows the process to be accelerated and auctions to be organized successively if there are no participants in the previous stages. The procedure may continue at different percentage values, under the conditions provided by law.
CITR is to publicly announce the schedule and participation conditions.
According to the judicial administrator, the objective is to identify an investor and reintegrate the shipyard into the economic circuit. CITR representatives maintain that the resumption of activity could have positive effects for employees, partners, and the local economy.
Mangalia Shipyard entered bankruptcy proceedings in April 2026, after the creditors rejected the reorganization plan.
The document provided for attracting a strategic investor capable of taking over the activity and ensuring the financing necessary for the relaunch.
Subsequently, current activity was gradually halted, and liquidation procedures were initiated.
