ANPC checked 332 fish traders and found irregularities in 278 of them. 235 fines worth 1.1 million lei were imposed.

Following the checks, irregularities were found, such as the sale of adulterated fish, exceeding the expiry date, damaged packaging, discrepancies between the declared and actual quantity, non-compliance with storage and display conditions. Sebastian Hotca, president of ANPC, stressed the importance of reading product labels carefully to avoid situations that endanger health.
