The labor market in Germany is facing one of the most difficult periods in recent years, with the chances of unemployed individuals finding a job reaching a historic low. Andreea Nahles, head of the Federal Employment Agency, stated that the stagnation of the market has lasted for months, affecting all categories of employees, including sectors considered stable. The indicator measuring the likelihood that a person who is unemployed will find a job has dropped from 7 to 5.7, the lowest level ever recorded.
Nahles emphasized that well-qualified individuals still have the best chances, while young people and those at the beginning of their careers face bleak prospects, considering the low number of young people integrated into vocational training programs. She also criticized the planned reform of the Bürgergeld, which forces unemployed individuals to quickly accept jobs that do not match their qualifications, warning that this could create serious problems in the labor market.
