According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 1,137,728 Romanians have residency in Italy, constituting approximately 21% of the total foreigners in this country. The number of Romanians settled in Italy has steadily increased over the last decade, from 531,826 in 2014, doubling by 2024. Romanians are active in all economic sectors, and the distribution by fields shows a significant presence in key sectors. At the same time, more and more Romanians are moving towards qualified jobs in areas such as IT, engineering, health, and technology, where the demand for specialists remains high. Italy remains the most attractive destination for Romanians, having the largest immigrant community in the country.
