Minister Zangrillo announced a significant decrease in the average age of employees in the Italian public administration, from 52 to 47 years, due to the recruitment of 439,000 new workers with an average age of 39 years. The Ministry of Public Administration will organize 15,000 hiring competitions this year, targeting 175,000 new entries, to compensate for the hiring freeze of the last decade.
Zangrillo emphasized that, despite these recruitments, the ratio of public employees to the population in Italy is lower than in other European countries. He also promised to sign new collective contracts for local administrations and the educational sector by November, as well as improvements in TFS payments for public officials. The new hires may represent an opportunity for Romanians in Italy, especially those with higher education. The competitions are available on the official platform inPA.gov.it.
