A 47-year-old Romanian man was kidnapped and tortured by drug traffickers in Spain after losing a shipment of 500 kg of cocaine. The Spanish police rescued him, detaining a suspect who attempted to use a Tokarev pistol against the agents.

Images of the victim circulated on social media, reaching Romanian truck drivers who alerted the authorities. The victim had been hired by an Albanian clan for drug transportation, but the goods were stolen by another group, which led to his kidnapping.

Romanian authorities requested assistance from Spain, and the police identified the vehicle in which the victim was located. The kidnapper resisted during the intervention but was provisionally released after being presented before the court. The missing drugs have not been found to date.
