Four Romanians suspected of attempting to steal railway cables have been arrested in Germany

On the night from Saturday to Sunday, in Rheinbreitbach, Germany, a woman alerted the authorities about a suspicious person near the railway, which led to a large operation by the Federal Police. The agents discovered cut cables and heard noises from the forest, triggering searches with a helicopter.

Two of the suspects, aged 19 and 37, were found hiding in vegetation, while the other two, aged 18 and 42, were discovered in parked vehicles nearby. Inside an Audi, the police found non-ferrous metals and tools, and the estimated damage to the railway infrastructure is at least 50,000 euros. The four Romanians have been placed in preventive custody, and the investigation continues to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.
