A break-in attempt took place on Via Podgora in Treviso, where the homeowner found four individuals with their faces covered inside the house. They fled before committing the theft, getting into a black BMW. After the homeowner's call, the police initiated a search, quickly identifying the vehicle on Via Noalese, near the airport. A chase ensued, which ended on the city ring road, where the police stopped the car.

Following the search, balaclavas, a crowbar, tools for breaking in, and a Romanian police badge belonging to the driver were found. In the BMW were a 33-year-old woman and two men aged 40 and 41, the latter having criminal records. The three were reported to the judicial authorities for attempted theft, and the men with records were banned from returning to Treviso for four years.
