The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked on Thursday, during a joint press conference with Nicușor Dan, for the constant support provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict with Russia.
Zelensky highlighted "Romania's principled position over the four years of war," emphasizing that "Russia must not have peace in Europe," being an aggressor that destabilizes states. He discussed opportunities for economic collaboration and security between Romania and Ukraine, in the context of new international challenges, including the war in the Middle East.
"We thank you for the missile defense component," Zelensky stated.
Zelensky mentioned that Romania has contributed to the protection of Ukrainian citizens, providing support against missiles and cooperating in the field of drones, including through the SAFE initiative.
When asked if Romania helped with projectiles, with interceptor missiles for Patriot, Zelensky said he could not provide details about Patriot.
"Several states have promised us missiles for Patriot. I do not want to detail the list, we agreed with them not to share. We have only received part of it. Regarding today's discussions, they are generally about general matters. Over 700 missiles in the Middle East have been in 36 hours, Ukraine has never had that many," Zelensky said.
We remind you that President Nicușor Dan and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, present in Romania on Thursday on an official visit, signed three documents, including one for a strategic partnership and one regarding the joint production of drones in our country.
