The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, together with the Minister of National Defense, Radu Miruță, visited the 86th Air Base 'Lieutenant Aviator Gheorghe Mociorniță', where they discussed strengthening support for Ukraine and enhancing defense capabilities on NATO's Eastern Flank. The meeting included personnel and trainees from the F-16 Training Center in Romania, highlighting the close cooperation between the two countries in the field of security. Zelensky thanked international partners for their support, emphasizing the importance of strengthening Ukrainian air forces in the face of Russian aggression. Miruță reflected on the resilience of the Ukrainian people and emphasized that Romania and Ukraine remain partners in defending freedom.
"There are moments when you understand that the strength of a country does not lie only in weapons or money. It lies, first and foremost, in its people. Beyond the practical discussions I had today with President Volodymyr Zelensky about our partnership, about a new drone factory in Romania, I kept thinking about that 'something' that makes a people remain united in the face of danger. Money, military technology, technology - all have limited value if there are no people behind them who believe in a common purpose," reported Radu Miruță on Thursday evening in a Facebook post.
