The National Meteorological Administration has issued yellow codes for heat and atmospheric instability for the upcoming period, in several areas of the country.
According to meteorologists, on Monday, August 17, the heat will affect Banat, Crișana, Maramureș, the west and southwest of Oltenia, as well as Transylvania and the northeast of Moldova, with maximum temperatures between 33 and 37 degrees. The temperature-humidity index (THI) will reach the critical threshold in the western regions. Starting Tuesday, the weather will change, with atmospheric instability and storms, valid from Monday evening until Tuesday evening. The wind will intensify with gusts of 40-60 km/h, and torrential downpours will bring significant amounts of water.
On Tuesday, temperatures will drop by 8-10 degrees in the north, center, and west, reaching between 19 and 28 degrees. Additionally, yellow codes for heat will remain in effect for the counties in the south, with high thermal discomfort and maximum temperatures of 35-36 degrees.
