Police in Hunedoara are investigating a woman suspected of stealing approximately 1 kilogram of gold jewelry from a company's safe, with the acts taking place between October 3 and 10, 2025. Representatives of the company reported the missing jewelry on October 21, and the police detained the suspect on October 22 for 24 hours, accusing her of embezzlement in a continuous form.

It appears that the woman gradually pawned the jewelry at various companies to obtain money. The investigation continues to determine the total value of the theft and the destination of the gold. Meanwhile, ANAF has launched a tax control campaign on pawn shops, following alerts generated by risk analysis systems.
